BEAUMONT, Texas — In a reunion that seemed to defy the odds, a Cleveland family embraced their beloved pit bull Randy on Wednesday, nearly five years after they mourned what they believed was his death.
The miraculous discovery began Tuesday afternoon when staff at Beaumont Animal Care spotted the 5-year-old dog running around a cemetery across from the shelter on Pine St, according to a Facebook post by the shelter . After what they described as "a rough Tuesday" and "an already eventful day," taking in another dog was the last thing they expected.
But Randy made it impossible to resist.
"The second we approached him, he wagged his tail, rolled over, and made it impossible not to scoop up this sweet boy," shelter staff wrote in the post.
