PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Public Works is two years into a two-and-a-half year project converting Adams Street and Jefferson Avenue downtown from one-way to two-way traffic.

Public Works’ Nick McMillion says they’re moving into a new phase of the project on Monday.

“We have a two-week window that we’re shooting for. We’re going to completely mill, overlay and pave Adams Street…from Walnut all the way down to Hamilton,” McMillion says.

He tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” the resurfacing won’t cause a complete closure, because they’ll be doing the work in sections.

Starting Monday, the far two left lanes and the parking lane on the north side of Adams Street will be closed through October 17.
