Manitoba's police watchdog has wrapped up its investigation into the fatal shooting last January in Dominion City.
On January 14th, RCMP notified the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) of Manitoba of an incident that occurred earlier that day. According to the notification, at approximately 8:31 am, RCMP in Morris responded to a wellness check at a residence in Dominion City. While waiting for backup, a male came toward the first responding officer with a metal object in his hand. The officer allegedly commanded the male several times to drop the item, but he continued to advance.
