NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New Yorkers may notice colorful berries growing in neighborhood bushes and trees in the fall but for as nice as they look, be sure not to pick them.

The Farmers' Almanac has warned against some of the most common poisonous berries New Yorkers may come across. Some berries may be harmless if cooked, but otherwise they can be harmful to humans and pets if ingested raw.
