KENTUCKY/INDIANA. (WFIE) - The Vanderburgh County Health Department has seen an increase of reported West Nile Virus human cases and one West Nile Virus related death.
According to Green River District Health Department officials, there have been 19 cases of West Nile Virus detected, including one death.
Of the 19 cases, three are in Daviess and two in Henderson.
Over the past several weeks, there have been nine human cases reported, mostly in the northern part of Vanderburgh County.
According to the CDC, Vanderburgh County is one of the top 10 counties in the US reporting human cases of the West Nile Virus.
They ask the public to take precautions against mosquito bites due to the increase in cases.
