Travellers have been ordered to evacuate Euston Station after a security alert.

Hundreds of people left the station this afternoon after being alerted to a security incident, which was later revealed to be a suspicious item. Images from the scene show travellers waiting outside with police vehicles being spotted outside.

Transport for London (TFL) announced the station was closed "due to a security alert." The News Agents presenter Lewis Goodall said there was a "full evacuation at the station" and that there was a major police presence.

Goodall said in a post shared to social media: "Train staff tell me evacuation due to a suspicious package police are investigating. If so not unusual on a day when everyone is very much on alert. Confirmation of incident yet to come from police."
