BARRE, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - A Barre Town substitute teacher was cited for possessing cocaine Wednesday morning.

Authorities were reportedly called to Barre Town Middle & Elementary School because of an adult reportedly "under the influence of drugs."

Officers say that one student had noticed a permanent substitute teacher, identified as 47-year-old Melissa Martin behaving unusually. That situation was then reported to school staff.

Martin admitted to school admin that she had cocaine in her jacket pocket. Police say that suspected cocaine was found in her jacket and backpack by Barre Town K9 Lakota.

Martin was cited for reckless endangerment and possession of cocaine.
