HOUSTON (KIAH) — Five people were injured in an explosion of a boiler at a hotel building under construction in downtown Houston, the fire department said.

Multiple people, believed to be construction workers who were working inside the building, are being taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for burn injures, the fire department said.

There are street closures in the area as emergency vehicles are being called to the scene. The area is covered in glass from the broken windows of the building.
