Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are admiring the late Dr. Jane Goodall after news of her passing away on Oct. 1. The legendary zoologist, primatologist, and anthropologist died in Los Angeles from natural causes yesterday while on a speaking tour. Among the celebrities praising her memory are the Sussexes, who met Dr. Goodall at their Frogmore Cottage home in 2019.

“Dr. Jane Goodall DBE was a visionary humanitarian, scientist, friend to the planet, and friend to us,” Prince Harry and Markle said in a statement, per PEOPLE. “Her commitment to changing lives extends beyond what the world saw, and also to what we personally felt.”
