Former Dundonald Primary teacher Scott Mulholland is to be South Ayrshire's new schools' chief. ‌

He steps up from his role as the council's number two in education, where he assisted Lyndsay McRoberts who departed in the summer. ‌

Mulholland, the former depute head at Dundonald, originally trained as a primary teacher and has worked in various schools across South Ayrshire. ‌

He also boasts experience with His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education (HMIE) as an Associate Assessor in the primary school inspection programme.

He has been the council's acting Director of Education since June this year and will take up the permanent role with immediate effect. ‌
