WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A fire damaged six units at an apartment complex on Echo Glen Drive in Winston-Salem on Thursday, according to the Winston-Salem Fire Department.
The number of residents displaced has not yet been determined, as officials are waiting on information from the leasing office about how many people lived in each unit.
One pet died in the fire, but firefighters said several others were rescued. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
About seven fire units responded to the scene as crews worked to bring the blaze under control.
