ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. —

Court documents obtained by 13 ON YOUR SIDE say an Allegan County man had at least 36 dead roosters, along with rooster fighting equipment, in his backyard after being busted for an apparent cockfighting operation .

The case dates back to July 26, when the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible animal fighting operation run by Edin Rodas, 37, of Hopkins Township, with an alleged $50 per person entry fee.

Aerial drone footage was submitted by Steve Hindi from Showing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK) , which shows a pole barn at Rodas’ house and multiple people who appeared to pay bets, dead and dying roosters, and an individual clubbing roosters in the head in an apparent attempt to euthanize them.
