Road work, sidewalk and signal work can close down streets in Davidson County. But can food?

In Nashville, it can.

Every Thursday, there is a melting pot of smells wafting to and fro from downtown Nashville as food trucks line Deaderick Street to feed hungry Nashvillians.

You might be heading out to lunch, yourself, and notice that the street is closed every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

That's because of the Nashville Department of Transportation's food truck special event.

There could be as many as 16 food trucks along the road, selling everything from American comfort food like burgers to Asian street food fusion, and, of course, hot chicken.
