Storm Amy is set to batter Scotland this weekend. And with several yellow and amber warnings in place over the next few days , walking your dog is going to be both unpleasant and dangerous.

Much of the country is to face 'damaging' 95mph winds on Friday and Saturday, as Scots are to be drenched with severe downpours.

Strathclyde and the south west region has already been under a yellow alert for rain since 4pm today, October 2. With a further amber wind warning tomorrow and several other yellow rain warnings stretching from today through to Saturday, making sure your pooch gets enough exercise will be difficult.

And Leah Callaghan, Vet Nurse at Butternut Box , is urging pet owners to think twice before heading out for their daily walk during the storm.
