Travel advice has been issued as Storm Amy is set to sweep across Scotland, bringing widespread disruption.
A Met Office amber warning for wind is in place for the west and north-west of the country from 5pm on Friday, October 3 to 9am on Saturday, October 4.
Additional yellow warnings for wind and rain are also in place for most of Scotland on Friday .
During this period, wind gusts of 60-70 mph are expected, and may exceed 95 mph in more exposed areas. This is likely to cause travel and power disruption, as well as possible damage to buildings.
The very strong winds will also be accompanied by spells of heavy rain, with difficult driving conditions likely, especially for high-sided vehicles on prone routes.
