Sen. Kelda Roys hopes a new bill will help the state shake it off and make live events more accessible to real fans. The proposed legislation includes a nod to the fans of one of music's biggest stars.
The Stop Wildly Inflated Fees and Ticketing Industry Exploitation, or SWIFTIE Act would block price-gouging by organized scalpers, crack down on misleading practices by unlicensed resellers and ban the use of bots and other software to hoard tickets from real fans.
