Changes may or may not be coming to some federal services in the Tennessee Valley and the surrounding area as the government shutdown continues on Thursday.

Here are the latest updates on the federal services offered locally:

Social Security

The Social Security Administration 's (SSA) Chattanooga location at 1290 Premier Drive will remain open but will operate with a reduced staff, according to the SSA's website .

Social Security and SSI payments will also continue.

Veterans Affairs

The VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System remains open amid the shutdown, according to the VA's website.
