FRONT ROYAL — The Warren Heritage Society is leaning into spooky season.

The nonprofit’s Haunted Front Royal Ghost Tours, offered every Saturday through October, are a fun exploration of town history through stories of betrayal, violence, tragedy, madness and murder.

Led by tour guide Daniel Lelito of Stephens City, the 45-minute walking tour provides a glimpse into the town’s haunted past, relying on history gathered by Teresa Henry, president of the Heritage Society board of directors.

“All the stories that we have are based in history,” said Liz Rishel, executive director of the Heritage Society. “They’re all true stories, with ghost stories attached to the end. That’s a lot of fun.”
