**Activists Storm UK Train Stations in Gaza Aid Protest**

Hundreds of activists have staged protests at major train stations across the UK, responding to Israel's interception of a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. Demonstrations took place at Edinburgh Waverley and Glasgow stations, among others, as activists expressed their outrage over the detention of members from the Global Sumud Flotilla.

The protests were organised following the Israeli military's boarding of the flotilla in international waters early on Thursday morning. Eyewitnesses reported that British Transport Police struggled to manage the crowds at Edinburgh, where protestors blocked the main platforms. One witness stated, "Commuters trying to get through had to grab the attention of police officers who would push the crowd to allow a thin path."

In Glasgow, over 100 individuals gathered at Nelson Mandela Place for a protest organised by Mothers Against Genocide Scotland. Protesters chanted slogans and banged pots and pans, declaring, "intercept our fleet, we take the streets."

The Global Sumud Flotilla, which includes more than 40 civilian boats, aims to deliver humanitarian aid to the war-torn region of Gaza. Among those detained by Israeli forces are four Scottish activists: Jim Hickey, Sid Khan, Margaret Pacetta, and Yvonne Ridley. Notably, climate activist Greta Thunberg was also seen in a video released by the Israeli foreign ministry, surrounded by soldiers on the deck of one of the boats.

The flotilla comprises around 500 people, including politicians, activists, and lawyers. Among its notable members is Zwelivelile Mandela, the grandson of Nelson Mandela. Protests in solidarity with the flotilla have also erupted globally, with demonstrations reported in Italy, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico, as activists rally for the cause.
