Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to make an official visit to India in December, the Kremlin said on Thursday.

Putin will have an annual summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it noted.

Russia also said and preparations are at "full swing" for Putin's scheduled visit to India.

This is set to be the Russian leader's first visit to India since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in early 2022.

The development comes roughly two months before the scheduled 2025 edition of the India-Russia summit, due in early-December.

PM Modi met with Putin in person on September 1, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Tianjin, China.
