PORTLAND, Ore. — A teen boy was shot and killed in the St. Johns neighborhood in North Portland early Tuesday morning.
On Thursday, police identified the victim as 16-year-old Alexander Montie-Lopez of Portland. The medical examiner ruled Montie-Lopez's death a homicide by gunshot wound.
Police were called to the area of North Central Street and North Gilbert Avenue just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and arrived to find the Montie-Lopez already dead.
Someone was detained in connection with the shooting, and that person was interviewed by police. No arrests have been made. Police said they don't believe there's any threat to the public.
