A Bergen County restaurant known for its New York-style pizza will be closed indefinitely after the business was damaged Thursday by an early morning fire.

The fire was reported about 4:20 a.m. at Novino Ristorante on Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah, officials said.

No injuries were reported, and the fire was quickly extinguished, according to the Ramsey Fire Department, which was one of several agencies providing mutual aid.

The restaurant’s owners said the damage to the business was significant.

“Due to the seriousness of the fire, all operations will be affected and Novino will be closed for an extended period,” the restaurant said in a statement on Facebook.

“We will keep you informed through social media as we begin our recovery and rebuilding process,” the statement said.
