CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Alliant Energy announced in a letter that it is deprioritizing the Fairfax site in its evaluation for a proposed natural gas plant after push back from the Eastern Iowa Airport and city officials.
In a letter sent to city council, Alliant Energy confirmed it is no longer prioritizing the Fairfax site for its proposed power plant.
“We appreciate the invitation to participate in the townhall series regarding our proposed combined cycle project. While Alliant Energy has not selected a site for the proposed project, we are deprioritizing the original Fairfax location at this time.
