Newcomer Elexi Walker has charmed All Creatures Great and Small viewers who say they hope she stays for good.

The actress has joined the cast of the Channel 5 period drama as Sister Rose, who calls out vet James Herriot (Nicholas Ralph) over an ill rescue dog. She then helps him secure an X-ray machine for the clinic, telling him the hospital was getting rid of it and refusing to take no for an answer.

Fans of the Yorkshire-set series quickly fell for the straight-talking character, posting messages on X ( Twitter ) calling for her to be a permanent part of the show and praising her "strong" character.
