CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - Major changes in Cheatham County Schools are being implemented to protect students. It’s the latest district in the Midstate to add weapons detection systems.
District leaders said they’re the hoping the scanners can help alongside the locked doors, security cameras, School Resource Officers and other safety measures already in place at schools.
The first system is being tested at Sycamore High School this week before being rolled out to all other middle and high schools around Fall break.
