LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Department says a factory in Rubbertown is back to business Thursday following multiple fires the day before.
PRP Fire Chief Jason Meiman says Carbide Industries is in the process of cleaning up and employees returned to work in that part of the plant.
First responders were called to the chemical plant along Bells Lane just before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday about several small fires and reports of an explosion.
All fires have since been put out and no injuries were reported.
But this isn't the first time crews have responded to the plant.
In 2011, there was another explosion at the plant, a much bigger one that ripped through the building, leaving two people dead and two others injured.
