A woman killed in a crash involving a driver fleeing London police last month was a retired principal remembered as a master list-maker, tireless educator and proud grandmother.

Court documents identify Catherine Sallows, 67, as the woman who died eight days after being injured in a crash in downtown London on Sept. 10.

Two other people, including Sallows’ husband, were also seriously injured in the crash that led to charges against a 44-year-old Manitoulin Island man.

Sallows retired two years ago after a 29-year career as an educator – 22 years as a teacher, seven as a principal – at Willowdale Christian School in North York, according to her obituary.

“Her students were never just names on a roster. They were people she saw, heard, and championed,” her obituary said.
