CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cleveland Guardians run to the postseason was historic.

The postseason itself was shorter than anyone in Cleveland wanted.

The Guardians were held to - hits and eliminated by Detroit 6-3 Thursday in game 3 of the AL wild card series at Progressive Field.

Detroit broke open a close game with 4 runs in the 7th inning, highlighted by a Wenceel Perez 2-run single off Hunter Gaddis.

Ohio native Dillon Dingler put Detroit up 2-1 in the 6th with a solo homer off Joey Cantillo.

Cleveland got its first run in the 4th on an RBI single by Jose Ramirez off Jack Flaherty. The hit scored George Valera, who had doubled.
