KENT COUNTY, MI – An 85-year-old man has died from his injuries the day after he was rescued from a house fire .
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Stanley Vandenboss.
Vandenboss died in a hospital early Thursday, Oct. 2, the sheriff’s office said.
The 85-year-old was found unresponsive inside an Alpine Township house that was engulfed in flames on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The fire was reported around 4:35 a.m. in the 3800 block of Mount Hood Avenue NW.
Firefighters arrived within 10 minutes and quickly entered the structure, which was engulfed in flames and smoke. Vandenboss was rescued from the flames and taken to the hospital in critical condition.
