NEWNAN, Ga. — A bomb threat at Northgate High School in Newnan on Thursday was found to be unsubstantiated, the Coweta County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies with the sheriff's office and Coweta County Fire Rescue responded to thoroughly search and clear the high school in addition with school resource officers. When they did, they did not find any threat of a bomb, officials said.
"School Resource Officers and first responders cleared the school, taking every precaution to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the surrounding community," the sheriff's office said.
Parents were notified through the incident by Coweta County Schools.
