CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A University of Cincinnati student and former CityBeat intern will have to pay a fine after being convicted of a misdemeanor charge during his trial Thursday.
Lucas Griffith, a UC journalism student and former photography intern at CityBeat, initially faced charges of disorderly conduct, obstructing a highway, obstructing emergency responder violations and failure to disperse following a protest that occurred July 17 on the Roebling Bridge.
He was arrested alongside CityBeat journalist Madeline Fening after police responded, urging protesters to clear the bridge.
The confrontation ended in more than a dozen people being arrested, including Griffith and Fening, and two more being charged.
