A 52-year-old woman was scheduled to appear in court Friday on a murder charge stemming from the discovery of a body in the truck of a car that was impounded at a South Los Angeles tow yard.

Sandra Romo Diaz, of Los Angeles, was arrested Sept. 16 in connection with the death, following the execution of multiple search warrants, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. She was charged with murder two days later and pleaded not guilty to the charge, according to court records.

She is due in court in downtown Los Angeles Friday for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for her to stand trial.

Diaz remains jailed in lieu of $2 million bail.
