NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - A simple idea turned into hundreds of patients walking through the doors of the Rose City Baptist Health Clinic, a resource that has filled a long-standing need in North Little Rock.

The clinic began as a vision from Mayor Terry Hartwick, who recognized a lack of accessible primary care in the community. Since opening, the clinic has served hundreds of patients, offering services that many residents had struggled to find elsewhere.

Dr. Jessica Udeogu, the clinic’s primary care physician, had plans to return to Texas after her residency. But Arkansans and the joy she found in connecting patients with specialists convinced her to stay.

“I was like, ‘OK, this is why I came to medicine,’” Udeogu said.
