The time in the season when games count most for Central Coast Athletic Association (CCAA) football teams.

Most CCAA teams will open league play this week. CCAA leagues consist of the Mountain, Sunset and Ocean Leagues.

Arroyo Grande and San Luis Obispo will begin defense of their respective Mountain and Sunset League titles Friday night. 2024 Ocean League champion Nipomo has a bye. Arroyo Grande is the defending two-time Mountain League champ.

Arroyo Grande will play Paso Robles at Flamson Middle School in Paso Robles Friday at 7 p.m. San Luis Obispo will play at Pioneer Valley at the same time. The game is Pioneer Valley's Homecoming.

St. Joseph is the top-ranked team in the CCAA. The Knights (5-1) will open their Mountain League campaign against Mission Prep (2-3) at Cal Poly Friday
