Students at Rice Elementary School have new playground equipment featuring a larger kindergarten playground with a fresh green space, and an upper-grade playground that could be the district's largest

The improvements announced by the Santa Maria-Bonita School District on Thursday are part of continuing improvements of the district's outdoor recreation spaces.

The upgraded amenities at the school, located near North College Drive and East Donovan Road, replace the previous equipment that was installed in 1997.
