Didn't quite feel like fall today here in Grand Junction! Highs in the Grand Valley have been in the mid-80s. Tomorrow will be quite similar with a high of 87°, which would be a tie for a daily record. Interestingly, last year also saw an abnormally hot start to October, when the record was set to begin with! The day will start off sunny, but a big shift comes in the afternoon.
A cold front will pass through the Western Slope, bringing rainfall and wind starting Friday night. Gusts could reach up to 30 mph on Friday! The rainfall will be relegated to the late evening and during the night. I have a 30% chance of rainfall then. It will be interesting to see the path these rain showers take, as since the Grand Valley will be so warm, we may end up with a miniature version of the "heat dome"
