MILO, Maine (WABI) - Students at Milo Elementary School celebrated their favorite dog with a job Thursday.
Erma, a reading therapy dog, visited the school to have her 14th birthday party.
For the last 13 years, Erma has worked one-on-one with students struggling to read to help boost their confidence and provide a nice cuddle.
She does this in schools in Maine as well as over Zoom with kids across the world.
For her birthday party, Erma celebrated the big 1-4 with the Milo students she sees every week for reading time.
And what’s a party without sweets and party favors?
Alongside cupcakes donated by Walmart and an Erma-themed cake, every student got to choose a free book, featuring an Erma sticker on the inside!
