LINCOLN, Maine (WABI) - After a contentious school board meeting in Lincoln last month, a board member for RSU 67 has resigned.

The announcement of Andrew Funaro’s resignation was made during Wednesday’s school board meeting.

During last month’s meeting, parents of students in RSU 67 and various community members went before the board to discuss comments about Charlie Kirk’s death that were allegedly made by a teacher.

Before the meeting ended, you can see Funaro slap a cell phone out of the hands of a person who attended the meeting.

Lincoln police officers were at the meeting.

The police chief tells WABI the incident has been referred to the District Attorney’s office for review.
