LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man convicted in connection with a brutal 2015 stabbing that left a 6-year-old boy has been released from prison, according to state records.

Ronald Exantus, now 40, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2018 for killing Logan Tipton and injuring members of Tipton’s family during a random home invasion in Versailles.

Court documents show Exantus was released on Tuesday, Oct. 1, after serving less than seven years of his sentence. He will remain on supervised parole until June 18, 2026.

Investigators said Exantus drove from Indianapolis on Dec. 7, 2015, before breaking into the Tipton family’s home while they were asleep.

Prosecutors said he fatally stabbed 6-year-old Logan and attacked his father and three siblings, who survived the assault.
