PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - A man was taken to a local hospital after he was injured in a shooting at a convenience store in Peoria on Thursday afternoon, according to Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria.

Although many details were not available, Echevarria said that at about 12:50 p.m., officers were called to the University Convenience Foodmart and Fresh Deli at University Street and Gift Avenue for a reported shooting inside the store.

When they arrived, officers found a man with a graze wound from the shooting. That man was taken to a hospital for treatment, although the severity of the wound was not verified, police said.

At this time, police have not released any suspect information.
