BOSTON —
The construction company that would have built new service plazas in Massachusetts is now urging Gov. Maura Healey not to go with a different developer.
Last week , Irish developers "Applegreen" announced they were withdrawing from their contract, accusing the losing bidders, Global Partners, of challenging their project.
Suffolk Construction was the contracting partner of Applegreen.
On Thursday, Suffolk sent a letter to the state's transportation secretary, accusing Global Partners of lying about messages sent to MassDOT and saying they lack the experience to pick up the now-vacant contract.
Suffolk's executive vice president said in that letter:
