LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - After two years of speed enforcement conversations, mid-October is now the time when drivers need to keep a closer eye on their speedometer.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced that staff have placed the first cameras as part of an automated effort to increase safety in highway construction zones.
KYTC Public Affairs Deputy Director Allen Blair stated that over the next couple of weeks, the final cameras and signage will be installed, and enforcement will commence soon after.
“Our goal right now is to try to help slow down the traffic that is in work zones to protect the drivers and the workers in those work zones,” said Blair.
