MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department has released new information regarding a deadly shooting that occurred outside the Wendy’s near the University of Memphis over the weekend.
MPD previously reported that on Sunday night, a man wanted for second-degree murder fatally shot himself outside the restaurant on South Highland Street.
When officers arrived, they learned that the fugitive had fired shots at several bounty hunters who were attempting to take him into custody.
MPD has now identified the deceased as 19-year-old Jaxx High, of Bartlett.
Records show that High actually had two warrants out for his arrest on charges of second-degree murder.
High was most recently developed as the suspect behind a shooting in Cooper-Young last year that left a man dead and woman
