ALTOONA, Iowa —

Special censuses in cities across the country are being impacted by the federal government shutdown .

Right now, some parts of the Census Bureau's website are not functioning properly.

City leaders in Altoona are asking people there to hold on to any mail they get from the Census Bureau.

They say that information will help fill out the online form once the shutdown is over.
