TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The University of Arizona is currently evaluating a memo from the Trump administration that offers preferential access to federal funding if the university agrees to certain conditions. This memo is also under consideration by eight other universities.

Freshman Giovanna Bernal expressed concerns about the potential agreement, saying, “It sounds like a sellout on the university's part if they were to sign it. I'd be pretty disappointed.”

The memo, titled the “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education,” includes stipulations like freezing tuition for five years and capping international student enrollment at 15%.
