TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – Law enforcement warns parents that inappropriate photos could cost your child jail time or their life.

Even though a recent Alabama law is supposed to make online pornographic content inaccessible, more teens and children are taking inappropriate photos of themselves and sending them to someone else.
“We’ve had to go to the schools and seize phones because a lot of times it is child pornography,” said Tuscaloosa County Sherriff Sgt. Josh Hastings.
Producing, possessing and sharing indecent photos of someone under the age of 17 is a felony that holds lofty fines and jail time. Penalties for juveniles are given on a case-by-case basis but can be just as serious.
