FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth City Council’s public comment session on Tuesday escalated into a heated exchange between Mayor Mattie Parker and community activist Patrice Jones.
Patrice Jones, a longtime community activist, used her speaking time to criticize the council for reducing the length of public comments.
“We all remember when a comment about that spoke the truth about [Mayor Mattie Parker's] family’s KKK ties,” Patrice Jones said. “So we don’t pop up at your church, or wherever you are at, and make you uncomfortable in your comfortable spaces."
Those remarks upset Mayor Parker.
