DALWORTHINGTON GARDENS, Texas — Before sunrise, lines start to form outside PanPan Bakery in Arlington. Customers wait not for concert tickets or Black Friday deals, but for pan dulce, or Mexican sweet bread.

The bakery, founded by 21-year-old Laurita Molinar, blends Mexican sweet bread traditions with Japanese flavors. The result is a menu that draws visitors from across Texas and beyond.

“I’m like… where are y’all coming from?” Molinar said. “I didn’t know there were that many people in the world.”
