The district administration has enforced the stringent National Security Act (NSA) against eight individuals implicated in communal violence during a Durga idol immersion procession last year. The order was formalized by District Magistrate Akshay Tripathi on September 30 and announced by police on Thursday.
Bazraich Superintendent of Police, Ram Nayan Singh, reported that the October 2024 violence resulted in the death of a young Hindu man. Accused individuals Maroof Ali, Nankau, Mohammad Fahim, Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Zeeshan, Javed, Shoeb Khan, and Saif Ali have been detained since last year.
