ASHTABULA — The importance of life vests, and quick working emergency personnel, were dramatically shown a week ago today when two people were rescued from the waters of Lake Erie.
“The stars came together,” Ashtabula City Manager Jim Timonere said of the timing and work of city firefighters after a call of two people overboard came in to the city. He said a 3-year-old girl wearing a life jacket fell off a boat seven to eight miles out in Lake Erie, and her father jumped in to rescue her.
